Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies like localStorage and sessionStorage serve a similar purpose. For simplicity, we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.
SnapCaption keeps cookie usage to a minimum. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising trackers, marketing pixels, or any third-party analytics cookies. We do not track you across other websites.
These are required for the site to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core features.
| Name | Purpose | Storage | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Authentication session (keeps you logged in) | Cookie | Session |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare bot management and security | Cookie | 30 minutes |
We use your browser’s local storage for a small number of preferences and anonymous tracking. This data stays on your device and is never sent to third parties.
| Name | Purpose | Storage | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
snap_session_hash | Random anonymous identifier for usage analytics (not linked to your identity) | localStorage | Until cleared |
snap_welcome_seen | Remembers if you’ve dismissed the welcome message | sessionStorage | Browser session |
snapcaption_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie consent preference | localStorage | Until cleared |
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may set its own security cookie (__cf_bm) for bot protection. This is managed by Cloudflare and is not used for tracking. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
You can clear all SnapCaption data at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to manage cookies and local storage under their privacy or settings menu:
Clearing cookies may log you out of your account if you have one.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when it was last revised.
